SpotLight CT Scanner

As the first cardiology group in Texas to offer this cutting-edge technology, we can image the entire heart in a single heartbeat, delivering quick and accurate results to patients. Providing this cardiovascular imaging service in our Dallas office, we can improve patients’ access to vital diagnostic imaging, eliminating the need for referrals and reducing wait times at costly imaging centers.

Arineta’s SpotLight CT scanner is non-invasive and requires only modest doses of radiation and contrast agent compared to traditional whole-body CT scanners. SpotLight provides high-resolution anatomic images of the heart and coronary arteries used in calcium scoring and cardiac CT angiography (CCTA) for Connected Cardiovascular Care patients, including those with high or unstable heart rates. It is an effective tool for identifying and reducing cardiovascular risk and facilitating timely treatment when immediate interventions are necessary.

What to Expect the Day of the Test

Before arriving, please inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, allergic to iodine, shellfish, or any medications, undergoing radiation therapy, or if you are older than 60 with a history of kidney problems. Some health conditions may require additional precautions.

On the day of your CT Scan please leave all jewelry at home. Upon arrival, you will change into a hospital gown. If contrast is needed, a nurse will insert an IV. This dye allows us to follow the blood flow through the heart, enhances visibility in the scans, and helps us diagnose a range of heart conditions. You might feel a warm sensation as the dye circulates, and a metallic taste in your mouth is normal.

Electrode patches will be placed on your chest for an electrocardiogram (EKG) monitor to track your heart’s electrical activity. You’ll lie on a special table that moves into the donut-shaped CT scanner. If contrast is used, you might feel a warm sensation as it circulates and a metallic taste in your mouth. While the entire test may take 30 to 60 minutes, the actual scan lasts around 10 minutes.

After the test is completed, your IV will be removed. You can return home and resume normal activities and eating habits. Our team will review your images within a few days, ensuring prompt and comprehensive test results.

At Connected Cardiovascular Care, we prioritize your comfort and well-being throughout the entire process, providing you with the highest quality of cardiovascular care.
